Multiple causality in the production of antisocial behaviors

Abstract

The editing of this paper was determined, first of all, by the belief that the current moral state of man reveals that the whole complex of feelings associated with antisocial behavior not only does not diminish, but proliferates in an increasingly competitive social environment, which makes a discussion on the factors that maintain and even amplify the consequences of this phenomenon on the individual psyche and on the social climate is opportune. I believe that one of the important psychic abilities that should characterize the behavior of the human being, regardless of the general social context in which it operates (society based on competitive values ​​or, conversely, equality), is that of openness to peers, respectively availability to make a transposition in the feelings of others and to understand these feelings, to adopt even the point of view of one's peers (obviously, when it is rational and common sense). Closure in itself, psychological egocentrism, the attitude of looking at everything through the prism of personal interests and feelings create the conditions for the emergence of conflicting and frustrating situations in the relations between individuals and in the relations between the individual and society. The feeling of frustration that underlies antisocial behavior is specific to that person who is bound by his own way of looking at and interpreting reality, by the inability to detach himself from his own selfish feelings and tendencies, which leads him to believe that he is always right, that he has only rights, not duties. Such a person will always feel wronged and will often contradict his peers and society. The affective and moral immaturity, characteristic of this person, materializes in egocentric tendencies, intolerance towards legal and moral norms, underestimation of mistakes, indifference and contempt for socially useful work, lack of objectivity towards oneself and others, lack of integration superior in social and even family life.
