Abstract

Ralph Waldo Emerson says “to be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment”. Assertiveness is the skill which can be learned and it is formed and developed in time. Teenagers need to be assertive in order to become self- confident and win the respect of their friends, colleagues and even their teachers. Moreover, the assertive behaviour gives the youth the chance of expressing their own emotions and feelings in a way in which they can satisfy their needs and wishes without disturbing the people around them
