The influence of posttraumatic stress disorder on military life

Known as PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), post-traumatic stress syndrome occurs after experiencing events such as war, natural disasters, etc. In this article, we analyze the empirical literature on the epidemiology and screening of PTSD in military populations in NATO bases in Romania, where the phenomenon of PTSD has grown in the recent years. Given that research in the field is quite poor, this information may contribute to informing prevention and screening efforts, as screening programs could be targeted at high-risk populations. veterans and active military personnel, the continuous development and evaluation of effective screening methods is an important public health need.
