Abstract

This paper aims to investigate one of the most important types of behavior that a human being can develop during its existence. This type of behavior has positive social consequences and contributes to the physical and mental well-being of other people, being called "prosocial behavior". Through the results of the research included in this paper, it will be found approximately whether there are indeed significant differences in the prosocial behavior of people living in urban or rural areas. The interest in what designates the term "prosocial" and "prosocial behavior" dates back to the 1960s, in four decades producing numerous researches that have been translated into books and articles. By 1996, more than 500 studies had been identified in social psychology journals in the United States and Europe, now far exceeding 10,000.
